Great article! I have a 500 myself and is my go toweapon if someone breaks in. Glock 19 and an AR15 in the basement if I'm downstairs.

The shotgun is hands down my favorite to shoot.

Here's a pic of the "family".

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

Thanks. I have recently got into guns. A very expensive hobby. I have another AR 15 to build soon and will be loading my own rounds.

Agreed. It was the first gun I bought for myself mainly because it was the cheapest. Like a $100 bill and it came with ammo. It wasn't the straightest shooter in the world but just a blast to shoot. Sadly I no longer have it but now its making want to buy another one.

    @Omaha

    Nice family.

I have built AR-15's as well, it is alot of fun.
Just the shopping and comparing individual components is a blast.
Thinking my next build may be an AR Blackout 300.

If you haven't considered lights, since most break-ins will be in the dark...
I recommend you look at the Streamlight TLR-1 (I have 3 they are so good).
It is 160-Lumens and has a strobe feature that can easily make a cornered burglar puke from vertigo.
Probably save you having to pull the trigger.

I am guessing that revolver is a Ruger (maybe S&W) .44 MAG?

I take it you are not in California with that SKS. That bayonet really scares alot of anti-types in the Golden State.

Makes sense. You know, drive-by bayonettings are on the rise?

The AR you see isn't quite the way I want it yet. I looking to get a tube rail (possibly Troy) and then I'll get the light. With Christmas coming up I'll probably have to wait to get this gun the way I want it.
The revolver is for the wife. Ruger SP-101 in .357. Just bought it. Haven't got a chance to shoot it.
I'm not in California. I'm in Maryland. We aren't too far behind Cali as far as liberal idiots taking away our gun rights. Our gov recently approved a semi rifle ban and a 10 round magazine limit. Thankfully all of my stuff is grandfathered and I can buy hi capacity magazines out of state.
    Can't even conceal carry here.
    I. Hate. My. State.

Sadly it was stolen. I wasn't sad about the money lost in it, more sad that it was my first gun and I knew it inside and out. I could take it apart and clean it and put it back together with my eyes shut probably. It was used in battle probably and the stock was pretty beat up and the sights were a bit off but that just gave it character. I think I just convinced myself to look for another! I do have a Mosin-Nagant now that has kind of replaced it but it needs a SKS buddy to hang out with!
