Sucks cause now net neutrality will be next on the chopping block.

VPN vs Tor? I wonder about the "privacy" of VPN services. Email encryption comes with a backdoor.

Let's be clear, everything has a backdoor. It's just a matter of how hard you're going to make it for the person looking for your info.

A quick read about them. You can use a vpn with tor. Really picking the best option for yourself is doing research. Anyway you look at it though your ISP will probably still get about 30% of your info. Also, if going with a VPN find a VPN the doesn't collect your data and time stamps. And connect to a server in Romania. I think it is Romania that they don't log data and info. Never connect to any country in the 5 eyes.

I have been using Hotspot Shield for about 2 years now and love it. Haven't tried connecting to Romania. I usually use China, but will keep that in mind @Studdmuffin.

How do you get an insane speed of 175mb/s? You need to be taxed extra. Lots of taxes to pay for my upgrade from 12mb.

Max I have to wonder about Hotspot Shield. Its free...Nothing is free. Says it doesn't keep logs, but how to know?

Same with me. 24mb is the fastest available at my current location. Unfortunately if you're in the US internet is usually slow and expensive due to the providers arranging to not compete between each other. Fortunately for me im moving at the end of the month. The house we bought has 100mb available but it's still over priced. I'm hoping google or att fiber makes it to the suburbs since they are available in San Antonio.

Re: Repealing FCC Internet Privacy Rule

I have 1GBPS at work and my house download with 50mbps upload.

Any VPN will slow your connection speeds and ping latency down, depending on how far you are bouncing your data around.
