Here we go.. the finale of the DPG CoD4 Winter League 2014! We've got the #1 seed and undefeated Blame Canada facing off against the #2 seed G-Spot Popperz.

Both teams have fought hard this season and had to overcome strong competition in the semi-finals to get here. Blame Canada beat Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies on the tie-breaker map of Toujane after losing on Crossfire and winning on Strike.

G-Spot Popperz beat Triple X in a close contest also on Toujane after winning on Overgrown and losing on Crash.

These teams faced each other in Week 6 on Vacant, with the Canadians coming away with the victory, 13-7. However, G-Spot was missing the #1 draft pick in the league, @D!M3YPOO. Will he make the difference this time and bring it home for @Hottie & Co.? Or will @Vengeance and @Sharpysharp put @Folk on their shoulders and praise him as their glorious leader?

    Match time/date: TBD

    Map #1 (G-Spot's pick): Crash
Map #2 (Blame Canada's pick): Strike
    Map #3 (Tiebreaker): Carentan

This will be a great matchup to watch, good luck to both teams!

Fresh off the success of our first ever DPG league, I've decided to get us going for another one. I know I had kicked around the idea of us doing CoD2, but unfortuanately I don't believe the interest is there for us to do this and have consistant attendance. Sad.. but hey, at least we get to play SOMETHING

So without further delay, I present to you:

    DPG CoD4 S&D Winter League!

Now, for the details (some of these can be up for discussion..)

    - 5v5 League
    - 6 players per team
    - 6 teams minimum, but I am hoping we can field 8 this time!
    - This league will be 6 weeks in length.. a little shorter due to something important happening in March (wink, wink)
    - Live draft of the teams that everyone can watch on my stream
    - Same rules will apply as for the last league (see the rules here: http://www.thadpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18138)
    - I am possibly looking to have 6+ brand new captains take the stage and lead the way
    - Every match will be shoutcasted by yours truly and @MISTERoldShadow or a special guest shoutcaster!
    - Sixx will not be playing, again. lol..
    - League schedule is as follows:

    • Sign-ups close Friday, January 3rd
    • Live Draft will be week of January 6th-10th
    • Week 1 will be week of January 20th-24th
    • Week 6 (last regular season week) will be week of February 24th-28th
    • Playoffs will be the weeks of March 3rd-7th and March 10th-14th

I thought about starting the league right now in a few weeks, but with the holidays coming up on us.. it just wouldn't work as we'd have to take like a 2 week break on the league and I would hate for that to cause people to not play in the future.

@Vengeance I need to speak with you as I have a little project you and I can do for the live draft

I will be posting the sign-up thread in the next day in the CoD4 forum and it will be linked here. For now.. you guys can post comments about the league, i.e. what you are looking forward to, what you would like to see be done differently, etc.

Also, if you are interested in being a captain for a team, please let me know. I have a few people in mind, but would love to see those people step up and want to do it. Ask any of the previous 6 captains.. it takes a special person to do it correctly!

As always, I organize this stuff for you guys to have a great time and also to get to know other DPG you might not otherwise hangout with. Let's keep this in mind for the league and have a fun time this upcoming season!

Official Sign-up Thread is here: http://www.thadpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18954

We've got two matchups that have major playoff implications coming up in Week 8 on Strike!

    Team Swamp Donkey vs CRAYOLA

The winner of this match will solidify the #1 Spot for the League Playoffs. The loser will go on to play MILF Hunterz in a tough matchup in the Semi-Finals. CRAYOLA won their earlier matchup on Crash 13-7. However this time Leuch will be hopefully play the entire game for TSD as he will try to match Sharpy scope for scope. This will be definately the best competitive matchup of the week and I hope everyone can catch the Shoutcast!

    Gondu Slayers vs Beating Cheeks

The winner of this match will grab the final spot for the League Playoffs. The lucky winner also gets to be matched up against the winner of our other featured match! Beating Cheeks won the previous matchup on Crash, 13-10 in a well-fought matchup. We saw Bones show up with a silenced M4, in which Lethalxtc responded with a silenced AK-47. Maximus also was a factor by clucthing 2 rounds.. but will he have it in him again on Strike? This is going to be a really fun match to watch and with the playoffs on the line.. we can't wait to see what happens!

Make sure you guys tune in for the Shoutcasts of these matchups as they happen! I will do my best to update you on when they are.. can't wait to see you all there! And don't think I forgot about Hit Squad vs MILF Hunterz, I want Hit Squad to get their first win of the season.. we are all pulling for you!

Been toying with this for a while, and finally we are up and running!

    Please visit: http://www.thadpg.com/xlrstats

The link is also available at the top of our forums. I figure we will be adding a reference to this site in game soon for regulars to check it out also.

This is the page for all those stats you've been accruing on the CoD4 TDM, CoD4 S&D and CoD5 HC CTF servers.

There is a drop down on the top right to switch between the two servers. I plan on adding the rest of our B3 servers on here in the near future.. but I wanted to make this public first.

I will need to manually edit the custom weapons and maps that our CoD4 TDM server has, but that is just a one time thing.

We've got over 34,000,000 kills on our HC TDM server alone.. that is INSANE!

One great feature of this is that I've enabled the ability to have signatures from each of the servers. Find your name on the XLR Stats site and click on the Generate Signature link on your page and just copy the info from there. Pretty damn cool!

Anyway, let me know what you guys think!

So I said I was going to be posting some big news.. well here it is!

Congradulations to the two newest Generals in DPG, remedy and Kahne!

They have both been under consideration to be promoted to General in the past few weeks and Max][mu$ and I have decided that now is the time to take them to the next level.

Remedy has been a member of DPG for over 6 years, has attended 4 of the 5 DPG LAN parties and has been an active member of our CoD competition team for CoD2, CoD4, MW2 and Black Ops. Remedy has been here through the tough times and through the prosperous times in DPG and has always been here to help fellow DPG with PC questions and to guide members through building new PCs. Since being a Lt. it may seem like he has done nothing, but he has done work in the background to help with the servers . Remedy is among the longest tenured active members and his leadshership in the General position will prove valuable to us in the future.

Kahne has been a huge asset to DPG since he has joined. He has taken the lead on being our go to person for Punkbuster issues, which is a huge part of admining our CoD and BF servers. I am happy to know that something I started years ago with investigating people who are cheating/hacking has been handed to someone I trust with confidence to make the right and fair decisions. I have been impressed with his attention to detail and his ability to handle Ban Appeals with decisive action. Kahne is on almost 24/7 it seems, even while working (is it still called work then?), and we are all appreciative of his dedication to DPG.

Both of these guys have been hard working members of DPG, which I believe is being recognized by their promotion to General.

Please join me in welcoming the two newest Gen's!

DPG will be officially celebrating 11 great years of gaming together on February 2nd, 2013.

DPG was founded by @Max][mu$ on January 23rd, 2002. I was 19 years old then.. which is crazy to think about how long it has been. Our group has grown leaps and bounds over the past 2+ years, due to the popularity of our public CoD4 servers. Max knows as well as I do that it takes hard work, dedication, perseverance and sometimes a little luck to have lasted this long... all the while we have not been just surviving, but we have been prospering.

    Long trip down memory lane
Just to give you an idea of what we had for PC gaming options back in 2002..

    - Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
    - Battlefield 1942
    - Neverwinter Nights
    - Warcraft III

Pretty exciting, huh? Well Neverwinter Nights was fun, anyway . Warcraft III didn't have the custom map options back then that it did a couple of years later.. and don't get me started on Battlefield 1942!

So since then, check out all the games DPG has participated in, whether it just be gaming for fun or competition. I will definitely miss some.. so if you have more to add, please reply and add!

    - Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
    - Call of Duty
    - Call of Duty: United Offensive
    - Call of Duy 2
    - Battlefield 1942
    - Battlefield 2
    - Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault (ask Max about this one!)
    - Call of Duty 4
    - Warcraft III & Frozen Thrown
    - World of Warcraft
    - Call of Duty 5
    - Modern Warfare 2
    - Battlefield: Bad Company 2
    - Call of Duty: MW2
    - Call of Duty: Black Ops
    - Call of Duty: MW3
    - Battlefield 3
    - Starcraft II
    - League of Legends
    - Team Fortress 2
    - Counter-Strike: Source
    - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
    - Left for Dead
    - Left for Dead 2
    - Borderlands
    - Minecraft
    - Star Wars: The Old Republic
    - Company of Heroes
    - Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
    - Red Orchestra
    - Diablo III
    - WarZ/DayZ
    - Need for Speed: Underground 2

and let us not forget... HOGS OF WAR!

Holy crap.. I started that list trying to go Chronologically but there was really too much and just started typing all the crap I've played or seen everyone play over the years. We've gone through ALOT!

Ok enough of the trip down memory lane.. onto the 11th Anniversary Event!

On Saturday, February 2nd we will be having a MONSTER Call of Duty 4 Tournament! Yes yes I know.. we always have CoD4 tournaments.. but honestly, everyone has it and everyone has the ability to play it, so that is what we are going with again. If you can think of something better for next time, please suggest

Now, what makes this tournament so MONSTER? The fact that it will basically encompass everything related to CoD4. This tournament will be a....

Phase 1 of the tournament will be a Round Robin style bracket, so all teams get to play at least 4 games! Each round of Phase 1 will also feature a different gametype!

    Round 1 - Hardcore TDM
    Round 2 - Sabotage
    Round 3 - CTF
    Round 4 - S&D

The top 4 teams of Phase 1 will move onto Phase 2 of the tournament, which is a Single Elimination bracket. I have not yet decided the gametypes of Round 5 & 6 yet, I will determine those later!

    Round 5 - TBD
    Round 6 - TBD

The winning team will win the following prizes (your team will need to decide how to divide the prizes, 1 different prize per person):

    - Logitech G500 Gaming Mouse

An old standby... this mouse is probably the best on the market, and I've been happily using one for years.

    - Corsair Vengeance 1500 USB Gaming Headset

So far it is the best gaming headset I've ever owned. Light on the ears, nice fluffy cushion and great bass. All around, you won't be disappointed ever while using this headset!

    - Razer Blackwidow Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

This keyboard will last you a lifetime if you take good care of it. Sounds great when you type on it and takes a BEATING from long hours of gaming.

All DPG who show up will be automatically entered for participation in the tournament. People who are not in DPG are welcome to fill out teams as we need them, as we want an even number of teams participating.

    8 teams - 24 people
    10 teams - 30 people
    12 teams - 36 people

All participating players will entered on a random list generator (instead of a piece of paper and put into one of my hats) and that is how the teams will be chosen*.

*Teams are subject to review to make sure one team is not super over-powered, and will be modified accordingly, before the Event starts.

You will have 5-10 minutes to meet with your new teammates on Teamspeak and get to know them. You will then be asked to choose a new team name. Team names must be given to me after 10 minutes, and they will not be changed after you submit them. During the run of the tournament, you will use custom tags (of your choosing) for your newly created team.

*NOTE* If you choose to participate in this tournament.. please be aware that it will require you to be around for possibly 5 hours if your team makes it to the finals. If you ditch your team before the Round Robin is over, I will have some serious issues with you unless it is an emergency. Substitute players will be allowed once per team, but only after a review of the situation by me.

We will be utilizing the Deathstar for this Event. Each round will have 6-8 games taking place simultaneously. Teamspeak will have an Event channel created for it and each server will have its own channels. If you wish to just spectate games, you will be able to do so. IP/Port and Password info will be posted in the channels so you know to connect to each server.

If you plan on being there on Feb 2nd for this tournament, please just put a reply in here so I have an idea for participation. I hope as many DPG can make it out as possibly. I am probably going to cap the teams at 12, as 36 people is a TON to manage.

I will update this post later with more information as it becomes relevant.

Thanks for reading and I hope you all can make it out!

For each tournament, rules are posted on the rules section (at the bottom). These rules include the maps, round/time limits as well as OT rules for each round of the tournament. You cannot create teams yet (Gen's and Lt's, please do not create them either). Please see the tournament pages below and read the description for the Preliminary tournament.
