CD Key in use?????

Not sure which forum to ask this but I was playing COD earlier today, then let my kid have the computer for awhile and then tried to get back on COD and I get an error saying "CD Key in use, try again later"......what the heck?!? I try servers without punkbuster but get the same message.... I re-enter my CD key # and still, I can't get on.....

Help?

hmm...thats weird. I know sometimes with Counter-Strike, if you leave a server and then try to connect to another one like less than a minute later it will say that.

a key gen may have gotten your key call activision theyll give you another prolly

you should still contact activision cause its prolly working cause the guy who was using your key isnt playing at same time . my theory anyway lol

Then when you got on to play the cd key was in use because your son's friend was playing on some random server... you never know lol! :P :lol:

I thought someone else using the same CD key would only mess you up if you were on the same server?

I should probably get in contact with Activision as you say...

nope if someone has your key and is on b4 you then its global as far as servers work...im pretty sure that if you explain that yours is no longer working thru no fault of your own that you should get a new one ^_^

Well with Counter Strike you can share a cd key, but couldnt be on the same server... at least that is how it was with version 1.4 lol. Anyhow, CoD yea... if somebody is using your cd key and you try to connect well it will say in use.
